Dark Fiber – The Kindness Of Strangers

Illusionary space and time, slightly phantasic background. You sit in a garden absorbed in a relaxed conversation. Long midday. Awkward dialogs that concentrate on understanding bizarre objects. You are involved in a slow dialog with demanding plants. Meandering thoughts about objects that could operate as social elements. Objects one could descibe as "hypothetical and poetical" ideas about bio-tech future visions and alternative virtual worlds. It is almost inevitably - the mental errantry that arises if one tries to merge those "kinds". (Excerpt out of the projectdescription)

The project “Dark Fiber - The Kindness Of Strangers” is inspired by the books of Stanislaw Lem (especially the Star Diaries - the travel adventures of Ion Tichy) I have envisioned "Dark Fiber" to become a kind of "design participatory" project, resulting into a platform or environment. the radius of attention is supposedly to focus on the possibilities of communications with rather demanding plants.

First Things First: The Dark fiber Weblog is something like "100 notes on a project". Generally speaking, the weblog entries are mainly a collection of notes and ideas about the possible attributes and properties of the future (to be built) Second Life Avatar (in order to be able to program this avatar). Further thoughts about the fictional design of the demanding plants, as well as simple notes concerning the practical things of the project realisation.
